Field pussytoes is a drought resistant plant that makes an excellent ground cover in dry, partly shaded areas. It flowers early in spring with its soft bunches of white flowers, where it gets its name: ‘pussytoes’. The rest of the year it spreads slowly as very low rosettes of leaves. It will also grow in the lawn. You may want to postpone mowing the lawn until it is finished flowering.
