Field pussytoes is a host plant for the American Lady butterfly.  It gets its name from the flower, which looks like the bottom of a cat’s paw.  It is very drought resistant and will grow in lawns.  We recommend not mowing that section of lawn until the end of June in order to let the plant finish flowering and set seed.   You can also use it in a garden setting as a ground cover.

For germination instructions see the Seed Treatments page.
